This memorial website was created to remember

Christopher Edward Stammel

October 12, 1976 ~ September 30, 2009

You will live forever in our memories and hearts

If Tears Could Build A Stairway

If tears could build a stairway and memories were a lane

We would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back again

No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye

You were gone before we knew it and only God knows why

Our hearts still ache in sadness and secret tears still flow

What it meant to lose you no on will ever know

But know we know you want us to mourn for you no more

To remember all the happy times Life still has much in store

Since you’ll never be forgotten we pledge to you today

A hallowed place within our hearts is where you’ll always stay!

                                                 I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took God's hand when I heard the call;
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
to laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that place at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss.
Ah yes, these things too I will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow;
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I've savored much,
good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me -
God wanted me now, God set me free.

Toast by Dick Streets

I want to welcome all of you tonight.

Chris is gone but not forgotten.

Chris was many different things to many people.

LOVER, SON, FATHER, FRIEND, CO-WORKER, CUSTOMER and more.

Chris touched each and everyone fo us in various ways.  The first time he was at my home; he accidently stepped into the pool drain.  He hurt his leg and tried to hide it from us.  He has plugged my drain.  I use to tease him by asking “What are you going to screw up this weekend.”

Chris loved life.  He also loved water.  He would swim in my pool all winter long no matter how cold the water was.  He loved to tease my wife about her 24hr eggs (which were terrible) and about burning the garlic bread.  However he always managed to eat well.

Chris was someone that was always there for you if he were your friend.  You could count on him.  He lived life to the fullest – He worked hard – and also partied hard at times.

We have laughed at or with Chris – We have been mad at him – We have cried with him – and we have loved Chris like family.

Chris would not want all of us here being sad; he would want us to celebrate his life.

So to all of you and especially you Jen and Sue; I will end this….

So all glasses raised!!

DEATH LEAVES A HEARTACHE NO ONE CAN HEAL!

LOVE LEAVES A MEMORY NO ONE CAN STEAL!

TO CHRIS – LOVE YOU CHRIS!
